LONDON JONES
London Jones was raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, in the Englewood community, where her life was deeply shaped by the love of her mother, Sheryl Hall, and the wisdom of her grandmother, Gertrude Hall. In their home, serving was a way of life. London watched them consistently feed and care for individuals experiencing homelessness, especially during holidays when those in need were welcomed as family. These early experiences planted the foundation of her lifelong commitment to service, dignity, and seeing the humanity in every person.
My Story
Growing up in a community marked by violence, poverty, and limited opportunity, London learned to see her environment not as a barrier, but as preparation for purpose. That perspective carried her into education, where she began her journey after earning her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Type 03 Certificate from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL.
London’s career in education expanded across multiple roles—teacher, case manager, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal. Each role deepened her understanding of students beyond academics and strengthened her ability to support their social, emotional, and behavioral needs. It was in these spaces that she consistently found herself drawn to young girls and their mothers—listening, guiding, and creating space for voice and healing.
To deepen this impact, London pursued advanced studies at National Louis University in Chicago, IL, earning a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with a Type 75 Certificate, a Master of Science in Counseling, and completing her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (pending). Her decision to study counseling was intentional—born from a desire to move beyond instruction and leadership into true emotional support, allowing her to better serve the inner needs of the girls and families she had long been walking alongside.
What began as everyday moments of connection with students and families grew into something greater. Alongside her husband, Gerald Jones, through prayer and vision, Pure and Sure was born and established in 2012—an organization rooted in hope, healing, and empowerment for girls. Today, London continues to expand this work through school partnerships, workshops, and mentorship across Chicago, building spaces where girls are seen, heard, and affirmed.
For London, this is more than a professional journey—it is a God-given assignment. Pure and Sure is the outpouring of a life shaped by service, guided by faith, and committed to ensuring every girl has the space to become who she was created to be. London is walking in purpose so she has the grace for service.
